The check engine light...and gas cap

If the check engine light comes on, it is orange or RED. Not red this time, it could have waited a few days. But I took care of it.

If you watch the youtube videos, they all will say to check that the gas cap is not loose. It was not. But I took it off and put it back. No change. I took it off and cleaned the o-ring and the tube near the top where it screws in. No help. Light stayed on,

That looks like a new cap. We will get to that. My tire dealer had no slots. I also needed an oil change. Take the car...and leave it there? Yes, I can ride there and bicycle back 8 miles. And I can go back the same way the next morning. They will have done the 120 dollar test for the error codes by then.

The oil got changed. The next morning waited to ten or so. They replaced that cap and polished the tube end where it screws in. No light comes on. You can buy a device to read the error codes yourself, replace the cap. Toyota part is about 25 dollars.

Back to Toyota. The last bit is through a neighborhood and the Toyota dealer is not in a busy corner.

Park the bike, pay the bill, load bike on rack, drive home. This tied up 18 hours of my Thu and Fri.
